Exploring Rajasthan’s Royal Charm: Ahmad Shariff’s Thrillophilia Review

Rajasthan has a special way of welcoming travellers. Its cities are filled with life, its heritage stands tall in every corner, and its warm hospitality creates a sense of comfort that stays with you. For Ahmad Shariff and Renuka Devi, this trip was a chance to explore a state they had admired from afar for many years. They wanted a journey that felt smooth, organised and rich with experiences. What they received through Thrillophilia was exactly that.

Their holiday was shaped by effortless planning, comfortable stays and clear coordination. The one person who added even more value to their journey was their driver, Satveer Singh. His calm nature, helpful presence and knowledge of the places they visited made every day more enjoyable. He became the dependable guide they needed throughout their Rajasthan circuit.

This is the story of how Ahmad and Renuka travelled from Jaipur to Udaipur, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, discovering history, culture and the true essence of Rajasthan along the way.

Jaipur: A Regal Start to Their Journey

Their trip began on 10 February in Jaipur, the city known for its royal charm. As soon as they stepped out of the airport, Satveer was there to receive them. His warm greeting set the tone for the next eight days.

The drive to their hotel, Sarovar Portico, was comfortable. After a short rest, they started their sightseeing tour. Their first glimpse of Hawa Mahal felt surreal. The intricate windows, the soft pink façade and the energy of the street around it made them realise that they had finally arrived in a place filled with history.

Jantar Mantar followed, with its ancient astronomical instruments showcasing incredible Indian knowledge. The City Palace impressed them with its royal layout and detailed murals that reflected the grandeur of the rulers who once lived there.

Before returning to the hotel, they visited Govind Dev Ji Temple and spent some time wandering through the local market. Each corner of Jaipur had something interesting to offer, and Satveer patiently guided them through the busy lanes, sharing small anecdotes about the city.

Another Day in the Pink City

The next morning, Ahmad and Renuka continued exploring Jaipur. Amer Fort became one of the strongest memories of their holiday. The large gateways, decorated walls and sprawling courtyards made them pause repeatedly to admire the beauty around them.

They visited Jaigarh Fort next, known for its massive cannon. Nahargarh Fort offered wide views of the city. The stop at Jal Mahal added a gentle touch to the day as they admired the palace floating on still water. They ended the day with a visit to the peaceful Birla Temple, glowing in white marble.

Jaipur gave them the perfect beginning. It was vibrant, culturally rich and full of historical treasures.

Udaipur: Lakes, Palaces and Quiet Moments

On 12 February, they travelled to Udaipur. The drive was scenic and relaxing. Satveer stopped at the Shiva Statue in Nathdwara and helped them explore Eklingji Temple before reaching the city.

After checking in at Swaroop Villas, they began their half-day tour. Sahelion-ki-Bari offered a refreshing walk through fountains and lawns. Fateh Sagar Lake gave them a calm moment with its gentle ripples. The Under The Sun Aquarium brought bright colours and aquatic life into their evening.

The next day, they continued with Udaipur’s most iconic sites. City Palace stood tall with its long corridors, shining glasswork and stories from the Mewar kingdom. The Crystal Gallery inside the palace added a touch of royalty to their experience.

Later, they took a boat ride on Lake Pichola. As the sun softened and the water shimmered, they absorbed the charm of Udaipur. Their slow walk through the local market afterwards completed the day.

Udaipur remained close to their hearts. It was peaceful, graceful and filled with scenic beauty.

Jodhpur: The Blue City and Its Mighty Fort

On 14 February, they drove to Jodhpur. Their stay at The Ummed Jodhpur Palace Resort and Spa added comfort to the journey.

Mehrangarh Fort stood majestic above the city. Its enormous walls, ancient cannons and decorated rooms offered the couple a glimpse into the strength of the Marwar rulers. Jaswant Thada impressed them with its delicate carvings and serene white stone.

In the evening, they visited the market at Ghanta Ghar, a lively area filled with local food, handicrafts, fabrics and vibrant colours. They explored small shops, interacted with vendors and enjoyed the city’s upbeat energy.

Jaisalmer: Golden Walls and Desert Winds

On 15 February, they travelled to the Golden City. The stop at Jaisalmer War Memorial reminded them of the courage of India’s soldiers. The museum displayed stories that moved them deeply.

Their stay at Chokhi Dhani The Palace Hotel brought Rajasthani warmth to their day. After settling in, they visited Jaisalmer Fort. Its golden sandstone walls and narrow lanes made them feel like they had stepped into a story from centuries ago.

The next day began with a visit to Gadisar Lake. The calm water, small temples and gentle morning breeze created a peaceful start to the day.

They visited Patwon ki Haveli, Nathmal ki Haveli and Salim Singh ki Haveli to admire the detailed artwork and historic craftsmanship. These structures carried the essence of Jaisalmer’s past.

Later, they went to Sam Sand Dunes. Riding on a camel, watching the golden sand stretch endlessly and feeling the wind in the desert became one of the most beautiful experiences of their journey. Their stay at Lakhmana Desert Camp gave them a true taste of Rajasthan’s desert atmosphere.

A Smooth Ending in Jodhpur

On 17 February, they returned to Jodhpur for their departure. The trip had been smooth, fulfilling and full of meaningful moments.

Through every city, Satveer remained supportive, patient and knowledgeable. His guidance made the journey comfortable, and his attitude added warmth to their experience.
