His friends often spoke about their own adventures, but Ajit had never taken the plunge. He wanted a break, something more than just a vacation.
One day, while browsing social media, he came across Thrillophilia, a travel platform offering solo trips tailored to Europe. Intrigued, Ajit decided to check it out and see what it offered. After a few clicks, he found a perfect Europe trip package designed for solo travellers.

A Monumental Excursion

Ajit, a history buff and avid reader, wanted to explore all the iconic monuments and historical sites to learn more about them. During his adventure in Europe, he visited various sites and was left awestruck by the rich history, fascinating tales, and breathtaking architecture. In London, he marvelled at the Tower of London, with its rich history and tales of royalty, and enjoyed the grandeur of Buckingham Palace. Strolling through the lively streets of York, Ajit was enchanted by the beautiful cathedral, Roman walls, and vibrant shopping streets, which offered a perfect mix of history and modernity.
The medieval charm of Durham, with its imposing cathedral and castle, and the river view was just marvellous! His journey north to Scotland brought him to Alnwick, where the medieval castle and lush gardens took him by surprise. He felt like he was in a classic Hollywood movie strolling through the enchanting castles.
In Ireland, Ajit explored the dramatic Rock of Cashel, a fortress with centuries of history symbolizing the Irish struggle for independence. The quiet beauty of Urquhart Castle by Loch Ness also fascinated him. But what stood out the most was the peaceful atmosphere at Trinity College in Dublin, where the ancient library and the Book of Kells gave him a deeper appreciation for the past.
Old Towns, Ferry Rides, & Scenic Views

Ajit’s European adventure took him through some of the most scenic and lively destinations, blending old towns, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cultures. Starting in London, he wandered from Piccadilly to Leicester Square, soaking in the energetic atmosphere of Chinatown and Soho, where he enjoyed a delicious dinner at one of the many ethnic restaurants. The next day, a stop in Cambridge allowed him to admire the stunning architecture of its residential colleges, leaving Ajit in awe of the university’s historic charm.
In Edinburgh, Ajit was struck by the beauty of the city’s centre, surrounded by towering mountains and serene lakes. A boat trip on Loch Ness added an element of mystery to the adventure, and he couldn’t keep his phone down. He wanted to capture every beautiful landscape he came across. As he travelled through the Scottish Highlands, he took a break in Pitlochry, a charming village, and passed by Inverness, close to the legendary Loch Ness. Ajit also loved the breathtaking views of snow-capped mountains and the peaceful Loch Lomond.

After a scenic ferry ride to Dublin, Ajit explored the picturesque coastal town of Kinsale, admired for its beauty. In Killarney, he enjoyed a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride through the national park, feeling the serenity of Ireland's nature. His last stop to enjoy a unique experience was Liverpool’s Beatles Story Exhibition, rounding out his heritage excursion with a blast!
The Enchanting Gardens & Charming Streets
Ajit's journey through Europe was filled with the enchanting beauty of gardens and charming streets. His time in Alnwick, Scotland, introduced him to the town's delightful gardens, a peaceful escape with vibrant flowers and beautifully curated hedges and streets. The impressive views of Alnwick Castle complemented the serenity of the gardens, making it a memorable stop.
In Edinburgh, Ajit marvelled at the castle towering over the city, its surrounding parks providing a calm retreat from the bustling streets. The sightseeing tour gave him a deeper appreciation of Edinburgh’s natural beauty, with its sprawling green spaces and charming gardens.

However, it was in Ireland where Ajit truly discovered the magic of gardens. Powerscourt, a magnificent estate just outside Dublin, took his breath away. The 18th-century gardens, regarded as the most beautiful in Ireland, offered everything from classical fountains to serene Japanese gardens. Ajit was particularly taken by the peaceful pet cemetery, a unique and touching feature of the gardens.
In Dublin, he enjoyed a peaceful stroll along the River Liffey, through its lively downtown and picturesque parks, further enriching his experience. Ireland’s gardens, especially Powerscourt, stood out as the highlight of his trip, leaving Ajit with a lasting sense of tranquillity and awe.
To make his trip a memory he could cherish forever, Ajit picked up small souvenirs like postcards and magnets from each city he visited. Inspired by the unique moments of his travels, he decided to create a special journal to capture his experiences.

As he made his way home, he couldn’t help but reflect on his journey and felt as though he was leaving one home for another, the impact of Europe’s rich culture and beauty lingering with him, all thanks to the amazing team of Thrillophilia.
