Vivek Narayanan from Hyderabad and his wife spent seven days across Istanbul, Kusadasi, and Cappadocia in September 2022, and the trip left a clear impression. Istanbul: Two Days in One of the World's Great Cities
They arrived at Istanbul airport and transferred to their hotel, and the city had their full attention the next day. The full-day Ottoman Relics and Byzantium Tour with lunch covered the layers of history that Istanbul wears so naturally: the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Topkapi Palace, and the Grand Bazaar all within walking distance of each other and all telling a different chapter of the same long story. Istanbul is one of those cities where you could spend a week and still feel like you have only scratched the surface, but a well-guided full day gives you enough to understand why the city has been at the centre of empires for two thousand years.
Day three was a half-day Bosphorus Cruise, the strait that divides Europe and Asia, running between the two shores with palaces and fortresses and wooden yali houses visible on both banks. The afternoon was the transfer to the airport for the flight to Izmir, moving from Istanbul's density into the slower, coastal pace of the Aegean region.
Kusadasi and Pamukkale
Two nights in Kusadasi, and day four was the full-day Pamukkale and Hierapolis tour with lunch. Pamukkale is the Cotton Castle, a hillside of white calcium terraces formed over millennia by thermal springs, with the ancient city of Hierapolis sitting above it. The terraces are unlike anything in Turkey and unlike much anywhere else in the world: white mineral formations stepping down the hillside, with warm water pooling in each one. The ancient theatre at Hierapolis, carved into the hillside above the terraces, added the historical counterpoint to the natural spectacle below. A day that covers both in one visit is very good.
Cappadocia: The One That Always Gets Remembered
The flight from Antalya to Kayseri on day five brought them into Cappadocia, and the landscape change from the Aegean coast to the volcanic plateau of central Anatolia is immediate and striking. The fairy chimneys, the cave hotels, the hot air balloons visible above the valleys in the early morning- Cappadocia is the part of Turkey that most people come back from with the most photographs and the most to say.
Day six was the full-day Cappadocia South Tour with lunch, covering the underground city of Derinkuyu or Kaymakli, the Ihlara Valley, and the rock-cut churches and carved landscapes that make this region one of the most visually extraordinary in the world. The tour gave them a proper grounding in what Cappadocia actually is before day seven's transfer back to Istanbul and the homebound flight.

That line covers a lot.
