Instead of following the usual route of spending their first night in Phuket, Soumya and his partner were driven straight to Krabi in a private vehicle. After settling into their resort in Ao Nang, they kept the first day relaxed, giving themselves time to unwind before the adventure ahead.

The next morning, they set off on a traditional long-tail boat, hopping between limestone islands, quiet beaches, and hidden coves across the Andaman Sea. For Soumya, the standout moment came when he finally tried snorkelling for the first time. With an instructor guiding him throughout, he was able to enjoy the experience with complete confidence.

As evening approached, a Thai dinner by the beach gave way to the day's most magical moment. Once darkness fell, the sea came alive with glowing bioluminescent plankton, lighting up the water with every movement. Floating through the illuminated sea, Soumya realised he was living an experience he had imagined for a long time as the team quietly handled every detail behind the scenes, allowing him to simply enjoy the journey.

Trading Limestone Cliffs for Phuket's Cultural Charm 

With Krabi behind them, Soumya and his partner made the scenic drive back to Phuket, where the pace of the journey shifted once again. After a comfortable private transfer and check-in at their hotel in Patong, they headed out to discover the island beyond its beaches.

The guided city tour introduced them to Phuket's cultural side, from the colourful Sino-Portuguese architecture and charming cafés of Phuket Old Town to the panoramic views from the iconic Big Buddha. With all tickets arranged in advance, they could simply enjoy each stop without worrying about queues or logistics. After two days centred around the sea, exploring Phuket's history and local character brought a refreshing change of pace and added another dimension to their Thailand journey.

The Final Days Among Thailand's Iconic Islands

The final two days of Soumya's Thailand trip revolved around the islands, and they turned out to be the highlight of the holiday. Their first excursion took them by speedboat to the famous Phi Phi Islands, a place Soumya had only admired through photographs before. The day unfolded between white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and scenic island stops, with an included lunch making it easy to simply soak in the beauty of the Andaman Sea.

As much as he enjoyed Phi Phi, Soumya wondered if the following day's visit to James Bond Island would feel too similar. That concern disappeared as soon as they entered Phang Nga Bay on a traditional long-tail boat. Instead of beach-hopping, the experience focused on towering limestone cliffs, quiet lagoons, and canoeing through mangrove-lined passages while their guide shared stories about the region's history and geology.

It was a slower, more immersive finale that contrasted beautifully with the previous day's adventure. Watching the sun dip below the horizon, Soumya felt grateful that the trip had unfolded exactly as he had hoped and already found himself looking forward to planning the next one.
