A Swiss Journey to Remember: Saksham's Europe Trip with Thrillophilia

"To love is to travel, to wander, to explore—to get lost, and to find yourself."

Rome - December 17th: Arrival in the Eternal City

As Saksham and his wife landed in Rome, the thrill of adventure was hard to contain. They had dreamt of this honeymoon for so long—finally, here they were, ready to explore Europe’s finest cities and create memories that would last a lifetime.

Their first evening in Rome set the stage for an enchanting journey. A shuttle took them to their hotel, where the welcoming staff seemed just as excited about their adventure as they were. Later, they headed to the vibrant Via Cavour district, filled with cozy cafes and the aromas of Italian cooking.

Saksham turned to his wife, smiling as he took in the atmosphere."Imagine all the stories these streets could tell," he said. She laughed, “And imagine the ones we’re going to add!”

December 18th - Rome’s Heartbeat: History, Love, and Laughter

The next day, they woke early, eager to see the famed city of Rome unfold in all its glory. They began with a scenic city tour, marveling at Rome’s historic architecture. Standing before St. Peter’s Basilica, Saksham felt a sense of awe. This was not just a city; it was a living monument to history and faith.

They walked the Imperial Forums, their guide sharing stories of ancient emperors, warriors, and traditions. Looking at his wife, Saksham could see she was equally captivated.

“It feels like we’re traveling through time, doesn’t it?” he whispered, squeezing her hand. She smiled back, “I think we just found the perfect start to our love story.”

That evening, they strolled the cobbled streets of Trastevere, a neighborhood brimming with charm and life. They found themselves in a quaint trattoria, where they dined on rich pasta and fresh bread, watching locals and tourists laugh and share stories around them.

December 19th - Florence: The Art of Romance

The journey to Florence, with rolling hills and Tuscan vineyards dotting the landscape, was itself a dream. Arriving in Florence, they headed to Piazzale Michelangelo for a panoramic view of the city.

"This city is like a painting," Saksham murmured as they stood, hand-in-hand, gazing at the skyline. The Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, and the towers of Florence stretched out before them in an unforgettable scene.

In the evening, a guide took them through Florence’s historic center, winding through the Plaza della Signoria and past iconic Renaissance sculptures. As they walked, Saksham’s wife marveled at the art surrounding them.

"It feels like we’re in a museum without walls," she said, entranced.

After a day filled with art and history, they found a quiet cafe tucked away in a narrow street. The cappuccinos were strong, and the gelato was perfection—like everything else on their Italian journey so far.

December 20th - Venice: Love on the Canals

If Florence was a masterpiece, Venice was a fairytale. They arrived to mist floating over the canals and soft sunlight illuminating St. Mark’s Square. Saksham and his wife took a boat to the island, gliding silently across the water, taking in the beauty of the Venetian skyline.

As they visited the Basilica and the Murano Glass Factory, they couldn’t help but marvel at the glassmakers, who had practiced their art for centuries. Every piece was delicate, beautiful—each a testament to tradition.

"This glass is as fragile as the memories we create,” Saksham thought, smiling as he watched the artisans work.

Later, wandering the tiny alleys and crossing over charming bridges, they were charmed by Venice’s surreal beauty. Saksham turned to his wife, “Promise me we’ll return someday.”“Only if you promise me a gondola ride,” she teased.

December 22nd - Zurich and Grindelwald: A Swiss Winter Wonderland

The highlight was their journey through the Swiss Alps, with snow-dusted mountains and cozy villages making them feel like they’d stepped into a winter postcard. They traveled to Grindelwald, taking a cable car up into the mountains, where they stood in awe of the glacier views surrounding them.

On the suspended bridge, his wife hesitated for a moment, looking down at the deep valleys below.

"Come on,” Saksham encouraged, holding her hand, “Just trust me.”“I’d follow you anywhere,” she laughed, gripping his hand.

December 23rd - Paris Awaits

From the snowy peaks of Switzerland, they set off for Paris, a city that had been on both their minds since they began planning their honeymoon. Paris was romance, art, lights, music—everything they’d dreamed it to be and more.

They arrived in the evening, enchanted by the city’s warm lights. Saksham held his wife close as they strolled along the Seine. This was Paris, their last stop but one filled with all the promise of a new chapter.

December 24th - A Christmas Eve in Paris

Paris opened her arms to them on Christmas Eve. They visited the Palace of Versailles, its halls echoing with the footsteps of kings and queens. At Montmartre, they watched street artists sketching portraits, the city stretching out below them like an endless dream.

“This is Paris,” Saksham said softly, “alive with art, music, and stories.”“And now we’re part of it,” his wife whispered, looking out over the city.

December 25th - Eiffel Tower & Boat Cruise on the Seine

Their last full day in Paris began with a visit to the Eiffel Tower, where they ascended to the second floor for a view unlike any other. The city lay beneath them, grand and beautiful. They felt the weight of history, of the countless couples who had stood here before, just as in love as they were.

Later, they took a boat cruise along the Seine, watching the sunset over Paris. As the city lights sparkled on the river, Saksham and his wife shared a quiet moment, soaking in the magic of it all.

Paris - December 26th: Farewell to Europe

On their last morning, they walked through Paris’s quiet streets one final time. Each city had left its mark on them, and their honeymoon had woven itself into the landscapes, the architecture, the food, and the stories of each place.

"We’ll be back,” Saksham promised as they boarded their flight. And though their European adventure had come to an end, they knew it was just the beginning of a lifetime of journeys together.
